POSITION: Project Manager / Project Sponsor - Large Projects Heavy Civil
LOCATION: Utah
JOB SUMMARY: Plan, develop, coordinate, and manage onsite construction engineering activities for large, extensive DOT projects ($100+ million contracts).
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Interface with others to resolve problems, ensure quality of construction, etc. in support of overall project schedule.
- Plan, organize and staff key field positions through regional department heads.
- Own overview and tracking of budgets and adjusted job costing. Prepare and organize monthly project cost reporting to review with Area and Division Manager.
- Establish project objectives, policies, procedures and performance standards within boundaries of the project management guide.
- Initiate and maintain liaison with customer, joint-venture partners, subcontractors and others whom the company may facilitate construction activities.
- Represent company in project meetings, assist in labor negotiations/strategy meetings, etc.
- Monitor/control construction through administrative direction of on-stie Superintendents to ensure project is built on schedule and within budget; investigate potentially serious situations and implement corrective measures.
- Ensure compliance with all safety and environmental requirements.
- Complete other assignments as assigned by your direct supervisor.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- 10+ years of Heavy Civil Project Experience is preferred.
- Must have a working knowledge of construction equipment and techniques, drawings & specifications, building materials and required standards applicable to discipline.
- Superior communication and interpersonal skills essential.
- Skilled in assuming responsibility and reaching deadlines.
- Strong grasp of technology and construction software's.
- 4+ years of Large Construction Project Management experience preferred.
- Must be willing and able to travel.
- Experience with Alternative Delivery/CMGC.
- Must have joint venture experience.
